Teaching and Learning

Teacher education programs of TED University offer a teaching  program  prepared within the framework of the philosophy of  basic sciences to all prospective teachers in order to make the education experience more effective, meaningful and developmental process. Within the scope of this program, pre-service teachers spend a year consisting of science, social sciences, mathematics, philosophy and art courses that will enable them to know the teaching profession and their own tendencies from the first year.

In TED University Faculty of Education programs, teaching practices are carried out in a complementary and supportive process with the academic studies. In other words, the practice was  placed at the center of  teacher  training  programs. In this way, teacher candidates realize the theoretical and conceptual information  they have acquired during their education, by the experience of a more experienced  practice teacher (mentor) through the experience of the school, by establishing connections between theory and practice.

The basis of the student-centered education approach es to define the learning outcomes. The use of learning outcomes, the preparation of the right content, the adoption of appropriate learning-teaching strategies and the construction of appropriate evaluation mechanisms constitute a whole. The philosophy of TED University Faculty of Education is to provide a training that embraces this integrity, aims at meaningful learning, has student-centered, transparent processes, and takes care of stakeholder participation and needs. In the same program, teacher candidates are asked to perform theoretical, practical, teaching, research and teaching activities. In addition to all these, it is expected that teacher candidates will take at least one course from each discipline in the field of basic sciences in order to gain a rich culture with the lessons they receive from the faculty of education.

Teacher candidates are also offered the opportunity to have a double major at TED University Faculty of Education. Unlike other primary education mathematics undergraduate programs in the country, the curriculum is required to take at least one course from each discipline in the field of basic sciences, with the possibility of increasing the number of extracurricular activities, researches, projects, observations and teaching practices. Similarly, seminars, interdisciplinary studies, research, graduation projects and multi-media supported learning opportunities are encouraged.
